The Wade Boggs Challenge Is Real — And We're Doing It at a Phillies Tailgate

If you've seen It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you know the Wade Boggs challenge.

One of the highlights of the new era of It's Always Sunny, the Gang tries to beat Wade Bogg's record of 70 beers on one cross-country flight. It did not go smoothly.

We're going to do it differently. A (a bit) more safely.

On Saturday, June 6th before the Phillies vs. White Sox game, the Always Sunny Tour is hosting a Phillies tailgate outside Citizens Bank Park with one collective goal: drink a total of 70 beers, together.

What makes it different is we're sharing in this collective goal, so the more that show up, the fewer each person needs to drink. 10 people means 7 beers each. 35 means 2 each. Think you're a golden god of drinking while your friend can barely drink 2? You carry the load.

It's a drinking challenge where showing up is part of the strategy.

The day of the tailgate, everyone gets a shirt. A plain white t-shirt (one size only) just like the Gang. We'll write your name on the shirt and mark off your beers with a sharpie every time you get a new one. We'll keep a running tally and when we hit 70, the challenge is complete.

The Always Sunny Tour has been running since 2023, taking people to real Always Sunny locations from the show around Philadelphia. So who better to bring the chaos of the Wade Boggs challenge to life in the very place where Charlie beat up the Phillie "Phrenetic"?

$5 ticket includes a t-shirt and access to the collective beer. Please don't BYOB. No game tickets included.
